What is Reiki?
Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that brings the body and mind back into balance. It works on all levels - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual – regardless of age or state of health. Reiki encourages self-healing, and a Reiki treatment typically creates a feeling of relaxation, relief from pain, a reduction of stress or anxiety or expectations, and greater clarity. Reiki is a non-invasive, drug free way to help all living beings heal (including your pets). Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word Reiki, a Japanese term, means universal life energy.
The fee for a treatment is $80 (90 minutes total: a brief discussion before the treatment, the treatment itself, and a brief discussion afterwards).
PLEASE NOTE: If you need extra time before or after the treatment, there will be a charge of $20 per half hour beyond the 90 minute allotted time.

What to Expect from Your Reiki Treatment
(as experienced by one of Sue's clients)
“Reiki, as a spiritual practice, can be extremely difficult to put into words. Because so much of it defies articulation, a Reiki treatment is all about the experience--where words don't leap to mind, feelings do. Perceptions of peace, deep relaxation, comfort, quiet, calm. The senses are involved and ignited while soothed. Where there aren't words, there is warmth, weightlessness, fluidity. There is a healing balance that is somehow tangible in the room, present but undemanding, with the gentle heft of a favorite blanket.
The treatment takes place on a massage table, while the recipient is fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner places her hands on the recipient in modest and soothing positions, addressing each of the chakras and any problem areas. The responses experienced by the recipient vary; these can include the pleasant perception of heat, the sweet temptation to sleep, the urge to smile. A tingling, a sense of being grounded, a reluctance in the limbs to stir, a feeling of floating. Whatever the individual reaction, the restoration of balance and healing is what defines the Reiki experience--ineffable, indescribable, incredible.”
